In a study to monitor hate against Muslims on the level of social networks, the Finnish Ministry of Justice recorded nearly 300,000 hate cases in just two months.
The study highlights 12 million Finnish language posts in social networks during September and October 2020.
According to the study, 97 percent of the abuse was directed through local networks, followed by Twitter and Instagram, followed by private blogs, news sites, and Facebook.
Most of the posts containing abuse and hate speech were either shared or retweeted.
