The Cansuyu Charity and Solidarity Organization restored the mosque in Makari, Cameroon, including new bathrooms, a fountain, garden, well, and an area for ablution or ritual purification.
“This mosque is very important as it’s the only mosque in the region,” he said. The mosque can fit 400 worshippers at a time and is named after philanthropists Mustafa and Ayse Yilmaz, said a statement by the group.
Leaders of the charity and Cameroonian officials joined the mosque inauguration ceremony, where copies of the holy Quran and food were also distributed to locals.
