Rare copies of Quran displayed in Perm, Russia

A number of rare printed copies of the Holy Quran were put on display on the sidelines of a conference on Islamic culture.

 

 

 

A number of rare printed copies of the Holy Quran were put on display on the sidelines of a conference on Islamic culture.

According to media, the inter-regional conference on Muslim world’s Islamic culture was held in the city of Perm, Russia on April 5-8.

It was aimed at promoting ties between nations and discussing the culture of Muslim nations.

Putting the Quran copies on display and holding Quran contests were among the sideline programs of the event.

There were also a number of cultural programs including an Islamic fashion program.

Perm is a city and the administrative center of Perm Krai, located on the banks of the Kama River in the European part of Russia near the Ural Mountains.

Islam is the second most widely professed religion in Russia. There are 16 to 20 million Muslims living in the country, making up some 15 percent of its population.
