Targeting of Londoners on the basis of their faith was unacceptable. These views were expressed by Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick, in an interview with a local media outlet.
The police commissioner also said that hate crimes against Muslims have risen in frequency after the London Bridge and Borough Market attacks.
Figures have shown a fivefold increase in the number of Islamophobic attacks since the attack at London Bridge and a 40 percent increase in racists’ incidents, according to media reports.
