Shia Rights Watch International Organization received the death news of civil rights activist, Muhammad Sahwan’s, with grief and sorrow, imposing all responsibilities on the Bahraini government.

Sources from the martyr’s family said that they received a phone call from the Jaw Prison indicating the death of 45-year-old Muhammad Sahwan, claiming that the martyr had a heart attack.

The martyr sufferedfrom head beatings during his imprisonment for his political activities whereas the government refused a request by the martyr to receive medical treatment despite his critical situation.

The martyr was subjected to heavy torture in spite of the critical medical situation that lead to his death.

The organization condemns in the strongest terms the repressive policies practiced by the prison administration, while at the same time deploring the disregard for the lives of citizens by the authority, which allows these gross violations of human rights.
