Crowds of civil community walked several blocks through downtown Allentown, Pennsylvania on Friday carrying signs that read “love wins” and “only one race, the human race.”
The demonstration aims forthe public to be aware of attacks against Muslim women who wear hijabs as there are many misconceptions surrounding the headscarves.
“The United States is an immigrant nation, a nation of all kinds of people and we need to respect that and support that and that’s why I’m here today,” said Tom Ulrich.
Ulrich is a member of the Unitarian Universal Church in Bethlehem. He said it’s extremely important to support the values and solidarity of Muslim women.
