Azerbaijan’s National Library has opened its doors for the new exhibition featuring ancient editions of the Holy Quran.
The inauguration of the exhibitions was attended by Director of National Library, Ph.D Karim Tahirov, Chairman of Azerbaijan Women’s Society Bahar Gasimova, and Rector of Baku Islamic University.
Addressing the event, Tahirov noted that the three-day exhibition is devoted to the Year of Multiculturalism in Azerbaijan.
He said despite atheism policy pursued in the Soviet times, Azerbaijani people managed to keep their faith in God and the true values of Islam, which calls for charity, peace, and justice.
Azerbaijan enjoys a tolerant atmosphere for different nations and religions. The state the national policy defined on the principles of tolerance and coexistence of various nationalities, ethnic groups and religious minorities.
