4th anniversary of World Hijab Day marked worldwide

World Hijab Day invites Non- Muslim women as well as Non- Hijabi Muslim women to observe Hijab for a day

Initiated by a New York woman Nazma Khan in 2013, World Hijab Day invites Non- Muslim women as well as Non- Hijabi Muslim women to observe Hijab for a day to experience what it’s like to be a Hijabi.

Hijab is considered to be a symbol of oppression and schism by many people around the globe.

World Hijab Day is designed to counteract these controversies. It encourages non-Muslim women (or even Muslim women who do not ordinarily wear hijab) to wear the hijab and experience it, as part of an attempt to foster better understanding.

Empowerment and freedom is the message the World Hijab Day wishes to bestow as it invites women from all religions and walks of life to wear hijab and feel liberated.
