Freemuslim Urges UN to Act on Conflicts and Climate Challenges
…………….
The Freemuslim Association (a global anti-violence organization) has appealed to the United Nations General Assembly to take urgent measures to protect civilians and address escalating global crises. In a letter viewed by Shia Waves Agency, the group called for an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories, stressing that the situation is a worsening humanitarian tragedy rather than a political dispute.
The organization urged the protection of civilians, the facilitation of humanitarian aid, and an end to the occupation, which it described as the root of ongoing violence. The letter also condemned repeated airstrikes on rural areas in Syria and Lebanon, labeling them unjustified and demanding firm international action. It further pressed the UN to deliver swift relief to war-affected populations in Sudan, Yemen, and Ukraine, ensuring aid delivery without obstruction and accountability for those blocking assistance.
Highlighting climate change as a current rather than future threat, the group called for faster adoption of clean energy and stronger support for developing nations. It concluded by urging efforts to reduce poverty and combat inequality, arguing that both fuel violence and extremism.
