The Mayor of Montreal, the directors of the municipal departments in the various regions of Montreal, the Council of Representatives, and other Canadian officials, as well as representatives of many Shia and Sunni Islamic centers and the Christian and Jewish community, attended the ceremony.
The Mayor of Montreal delivered a speech, stressing the need for cohesion and solidarity in order to uproot terrorism.
On the sidelines of the event, one of the representatives of the Supreme Religious Authority, His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq Husseini Al-Shirazi, and the official of the Imam Al-Shirazi International Center, Sheikh Saleh Sibaway, met with many of the figures present and conveyed the guidance and directives of the Grand Ayatollah in the field of cohesion and youth development.
