Shirazi Office Extends Congratulations to Muslims on the Second Eid al-Ghadir, Marking the Joy of Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (Peace Be Upon Her)
The office of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi extended its congratulations to the entire Muslim Ummah, particularly the followers of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), on the occasion of the Second Eid al-Ghadir, which falls on the ninth day of the current month of Rabi’ al-Awwal and is known as the Joy of Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (peace be upon her).
In a post published on the official website of His Eminence’s office and followed by Shia News Agency, the office stated that this blessed occasion represents a celebration of dissociation from the enemies of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them). It prayed to Almighty God to bring joy to the hearts of believing men and women through the appearance of Imam al-Mahdi, the Awaited (may Allah hasten his noble reappearance), who will seek justice for the مظلومية of the Prophet and his pure Household (peace be upon them).
The office quoted Grand Ayatollah Shirazi as saying: “The ninth of Rabi’ al-Awwal, known as the Second Ghadir, and the eighteenth of Dhu al-Hijjah, known as the First Ghadir, represent the two wings and pillars of Islamic belief, as together they embody the principles of tawalli and tabarri, which complement one another and cannot be separated.”
His Eminence has consistently emphasized that expressing grief or joy on the occasions associated with the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) reflects the saying of the Infallible Imam (peace be upon him): “They rejoice in our joy.” He explained that such joy is among the great divine rites that the followers of the Ahl al-Bayt should preserve and uphold, just as they remain committed to commemorating occasions of grief and tragedy.
