Grand Ayatollah Shirazi explained that “Eid al-Ghadir is a great day in the history of Islam; the day on which the Holy Prophet, peace be upon him and his family, by divine command, announced the Imamate and Wilayah of the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib, peace be upon him, as the continuation of the path of guidance for the Islamic Ummah.”

His Eminence pointed to the great doctrinal status of Eid al-Ghadir, describing it as an occasion that embodies the natural continuation of the Islamic message and reinforces the meanings of Wilayah and adherence to the path of the Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him, in justice and divine leadership.
