Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Hussaini al-Shirazi, addressed the annual women’s gathering at his residence in Qom, highlighting the spiritual and ethical imperatives of Ramadan and the vital role of women in religious education and moral guidance.

Speaking on the ninth night of Ramadan, coinciding with the martyrdom anniversary of Lady Khadijah al-Kubra (peace be upon her), Grand Ayatollah Shirazi extended condolences to believers and prayed for the swift reappearance of Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his return). He stressed that the holy month offers a crucial opportunity for self-purification, ethical refinement, and increased resemblance to the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his family), whose character is defined by patience, kindness, and good conduct.

The marja underscored the importance of controlling anger, noting that the Prophet repeatedly emphasized restraint in this matter. He highlighted that women, through determination and piety, can become exemplary in their communities, drawing on the Quranic example of Pharaoh’s wife as a model of steadfast faith amid adversity.

His Eminence further called on women to learn religious obligations and prohibitions and actively transmit this knowledge, framing it as both a communal and personal religious duty. He concluded by praying for the success of all believers, particularly youth, in fulfilling their spiritual responsibilities during Ramadan.
