Grand Ayatollah Shirazi: True Expectation Requires Fulfilling Imam Mahdi’s Hopes

Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq Al-Husseini Al-Shirazi held his daily scholarly session on Monday, the 20th of Rabi’ al-Thani, 1447 A.H., during which he addressed various jurisprudential questions from attendees.

Regarding the concept of the true expectant (muntazir), Grand Ayatollah Shirazi stated: “The meaning of expectation (intizar) is that the true expectant must know what Imam Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance) expects of him, so that he may fulfill it.”

His Eminence further advised that the expectant individual must prepare for the reappearance of the Imam by performing obligatory deeds (wajibat), abstaining from forbidden acts (muharramat), and adhering to moral principles.
