Activists and Shia citizens demand the construction of a new grille for Lady Ruqayya Holy Shrine

Activists and Shia citizens in Syria and several Arab and Islamic countries launched an important campaign, in which they called for the construction of a decent grille for the Holy Shrine of Lady Ruqayya, the daughter of Imam Hussein (peace be upon them) in the capital, Damascus.

The campaign participants called on the holy shrines in Iraq, especially the Imam Hussain and al-Abbas holy shrines, to put the idea of constructing a new grille for the tomb of the martyred lady among the priorities of their work and services provided to the honorable shrines.

This comes at a time when the employees of the al-Abbas Holy Shrine have finished installing the new grille of Lady Zainab Holy Shrine.

The campaign participants said in responses and comments followed by Shia Waves News Agency: “The current grille of the shrine of Lady Ruqayya (peace be upon her) is made of wood, and is not worthy to be on the tomb of the beloved daughter of the Master of the Martyrs (peace be upon them).”

They added, “We, the Shias of Syria, and all the lovers of Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them) demand the construction of a new golden grille for the Holy Shrine of Lady Ruqayya (peace be upon her) and to bring joy to the hearts of her Shias and followers.”
