Clashes between SDF, Syrian army escalate in Raqqa

Escalating clashes between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Syrian army have entered a new phase in the countryside of Raqqa.

According to Al Jazeera, cited by Shia Waves Agency, local sources say that after an unexpected SDF attack on army positions near the town of Maadan, the fighting quickly spread to the Ghanem al-Ali axis in southern Raqqa, where heavy weapons are now being used — a sign of the increasingly fragile situation in eastern Syria.

The SDF, for its part, claims it is targeting positions allegedly used by ISIS militants to launch drones.
