Damascus Rejects Israeli Proposal for Demilitarized Zone in Southern Syria
————————————
Syrian officials have publicly rejected Israeli efforts to establish a demilitarized zone stretching from the occupied Golan Heights to Daraa, Erem News reported.

Damascus emphasized that while talks on possible security arrangements are still ongoing, no agreement has been reached. Syrian authorities said they are prepared to offer necessary security guarantees but firmly oppose the Israeli initiative.

This marks Syria’s first official response to Tel Aviv’s proposal, which it warned would undermine the country’s sovereignty and risk further destabilizing the region.
