Shia Rights Watch Warns Discrimination Threatens Long-Term Gulf Stability
——————————–
The World Shia Rights Watch Organization has warned that continued discrimination and the absence of social justice in some Gulf countries could threaten long-term regional stability.

According to Shia Waves Agency, the organization issued an open letter to members of the United Nations Security Council ahead of discussions on regional security developments.

In the letter, Shia Rights Watch said economic and security stability in the Gulf region can only be sustainable if it is based on respect for citizens’ fundamental rights and equality in citizenship.

The organization referred to developments in Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, expressing concern over what it described as discriminatory measures, judicial restrictions, and politically motivated pressure with religious dimensions. It warned that such practices could increase social tensions and weaken internal cohesion.

The letter called for legal reforms, an end to discriminatory policies, and stronger national dialogue.

Shia Rights Watch stressed that development without social justice and respect for citizenship rights cannot guarantee lasting peace and stability in the region.
