Pakistan Says Four Militants Killed in Balochistan Security Operation
………….
Pakistan’s military said four militants were killed during a security operation in the southwestern province of Balochistan, accusing them of links to Indian-backed proxy groups, Khaama Press reported. The army said the operation took place on Saturday in Panjgur district as part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts in the region.
According to a military statement, the suspects were involved in militant activities, though no further operational details were disclosed. Balochistan, Pakistan’s largest but least developed province, has faced a long-running insurgency, with separatist groups accusing the central government of exploiting local resources without adequately benefiting residents.
Pakistan has repeatedly alleged that armed groups, including the Balochistan Liberation Army and the Pakistani Taliban, receive foreign support—claims that India has denied. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the security forces and said the government remains committed to preventing militant groups from destabilizing strategically sensitive areas amid heightened security operations nationwide.
