Four Pakistani Troops Killed in Ambush During Aid Truck Attack Response

In a tragic incident, four Pakistani troops were killed in an overnight ambush while responding to an earlier attack on aid trucks in Kurram, a district in the volatile Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Arab News reported. The ambush occurred shortly after security forces were dispatched to assist following Monday’s attack, which resulted in the deaths of a driver and a security official.
The recent violence highlights ongoing sectarian tensions in the region, where over 130 individuals have died in clashes between rival Shiite and Sunni tribes in recent months. Reports indicate that several aid trucks headed for Parachinar were looted and set ablaze during the initial attack.
Authorities are planning a large-scale operation to apprehend those responsible for these assaults. While no group has claimed responsibility for the attacks, suspicions are directed towards Sunni militants, given the area’s history of sectarian conflict.
