Clashes Between Taliban and Pakistani Forces Leave Two Dead, 11 Injured

In ongoing clashes between the Taliban forces and the Pakistani military in Khost province’s Zazai Maidan district, two individuals, including a woman, have been killed, and eleven others injured, Tolo News reported.

Local residents reported that the skirmishes began last Wednesday evening and have continued intermittently, prompting many families along the Durand Line to flee to nearby areas.

During a visit to the district, Khost’s Deputy Governor urged local forces to respond appropriately to any attacks. Meanwhile, Mohammad Ismail Ghaznawi, the Taliban’s Deputy Minister of Borders and Tribal Affairs, claimed the situation was resolved late Saturday night. The Ministry of Defense indicated that the clashes were triggered when Pakistani soldiers opened fire during the construction of a security outpost by the Taliban forces.
