Pakistan: Security Forces Eliminate 25 Terrorists, Including ringleader, in Khyber Operations

In a series of intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Khyber district, security forces neutralized 25 members of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and its affiliates, with 11 others injured, Dawn Newspaper reported yesterday.

The operations, conducted since August 20, were described as highly successful, resulting in significant losses for the terrorist group, including the death of their leader, Abuzar alias Saddam.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that four soldiers sacrificed their lives during these operations. President Asif Ali Zardari commended the forces for their bravery and reiterated the government’s commitment to eradicating terrorism.

This year, over 23,000 IBOs have been conducted nationwide, with a notable increase in attacks against security forces since the TTP ended a ceasefire in 2022. Islamabad has accused Kabul of permitting TTP operations from Afghan territory, a claim denied by the Taliban administration.
