11 killed, 4 injured after gunmen block highway in SW Pakistan

Gunmen have killed 11 people and injured 4 others in two separate attacks in the Balochistan province in southwestern Pakistan, bordering Afghanistan and Iran, Anadolu Agency reported.

The incident happened at around 7:00 p.m. local time on Friday when the militants hoisting flags of the banned outfit Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) on their motorbikes blocked a highway in Nushki district of the province, According to Xinhua news agency.

The extreme weather also claimed lives on the nation already plagued by intermittent terrorist attacks.

Lightning strikes killed 15 people in Punjab and Balochistan on Saturday amid heavy rainfall and downpours, Dawn online newspaper informed today.
