Pakistan deports over 300 Afghan migrants, Taliban Ministry says
Pakistani authorities deported over 300 Afghan migrants on Saturday, Feb. 24, according to Taliban’s Ministry of Refugees.
A statement by the ministry said that those expelled from Pakistan included 28 families, who entered Afghanistan through the Torkham and Spin Boldak border crossings.
Pakistan has been forcibly repatriating undocumented Afghan migrants since last November, citing that approximately 1.73 million are residing illegally within its borders.
After the Taliban reassumed power in Afghanistan, at least 600,000 individuals escaped the country due to economic and security concerns, seeking refuge in the neighboring nation.
