Pakistan: Blast in Quetta leaves 9, including 3 children, seriously injured
Nine people, including a traffic policeman and three children, were injured in a blast on Quetta’s Zarghoon Road on Wednesday, Dawn reported today.
According to the police, the explosive material was planted in a heap of trash that had been lying for some time. The explosion occurred when children, who were picking trash, were sifting through the garbage, the report added.
Terrorist incidents and violence has been on the rise in the South-East Asian country as the nation prepares for presidential polls, although security authorities say “Foolproof security arrangements have been made with regards to the elections.”
