Iran launches air strikes on alleged ISIS-linked targets in Pakistan

Iran used “precision missile and drone strikes,” to destroy two strongholds of the Sunni militant group Jaish al-Adl, in the Koh-e-Sabz area of Pakistan’s southwest Balochistan province, according to Iran’s state-aligned Tasnim news agency.

The Tuesday night attack, which reportedly resulted in the death of two innocent children, comes after Iran launched missiles in northern Iraq and Syria Monday, in the latest escalation of hostilities in the Middle East.

Pakistani and Iraqi authorities have condemned the attacks, accusing Iran of violating their airspace and killing civilians.

Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry warned that the incident could have “serious consequences” and was “totally unacceptable”.

The Iraqi Foreign Ministry had also said earlier that it would file an official complaint to the UN Security Council against Iran.
