Lebanon Reports Rising Death Toll Amid Ongoing Israeli Strikes
——————————————-
Lebanon’s Ministry of Health said at least 1,247 people have been killed and 3,680 wounded since the start of intensified Israeli military operations on March 2, as fighting continues across parts of the country.

In a statement, the ministry said the number of casualties is steadily increasing due to ongoing airstrikes and military activity, placing severe strain on hospitals and the wider healthcare system. Authorities warned of a worsening humanitarian situation as medical facilities struggle to cope with the growing number of injured.

The escalation has also led to large-scale displacement. According to a spokesperson for UNICEF, more than 370,000 children have been forced to flee their homes in recent weeks.

The agency warned that the situation in southern Lebanon poses major challenges for humanitarian response efforts, with children facing displacement, insecurity, and limited access to essential services. Officials say the crisis adds to ongoing hardships in the country, where humanitarian conditions have been deteriorating over recent years.
