Iraq’s Holy Shrines perform congregational ‘Ayat Prayer’ during partial solar eclipse

Today, the sky of Iraq and neighboring countries witnessed a partial solar eclipse.

Congregational Ayat Prayers were held in the Holy Shrines of Imam Ali, Al-Abbas and Imam Hussain (peace be upon them).

Thousands of pilgrims and citizens joined the mandatory prayer.

The prayer was named al-Ayat, which means ‘The Signs’ in Arabic, because when a solar or lunar eclipse or natural disasters occur, the signs of Allah’s power appears for the people.
