The Slaughtered at the Euphrates: Short film about the Karbala incident

The production of a short narrative film entitled (The Slaughtered at the Euphrates), which revolves around the Karbala incident and the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, has ended.

The director of the film, Azhar Khamis, said that “the film was based on a true story written in the forties of the last century by a British novelist who talked about the incident in which the sky rained blood in 685 AD, which corresponds to the year 61 AH, the same year in which Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) was martyred.”

He added that the Al-Kafeel Center was able to produce a short film about this incident, and the team started filming after completing the preparations that lasted for two weeks.

Khamis indicated that “the film was filmed in the historic fortress of Al-Ukhaydir in the holy city of Karbala. Actor Asaad Abdul Majeed plays the main role and Sayyed Muhammad Al-Shammari is the Director of Photography.”
