Millions of believers commemorated the martyrdom of the Greatest Messenger, peace be upon him and his family, at the Holy Shrine of his cousin Imam Ali, peace be upon him, in the holy city of Najaf, amid a security, service and health alert.

The Shia Waves News Agency correspondent said that millions of believers from inside and outside Iraq flocked to commemorate the martyrdom of the Noble Prophet, peace be upon him and his family, and to renew the covenant of steadfastness and loyalty to the Prophet at the Holy Shrine of the Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him.

He added, that the province witnessed a security, service and health alert to secure the pilgrimage and provide various services such as food, drink and rest, in addition to cultural services for the millions of mourners.

He continued, that the movement of transporting pilgrims to and from the holy shrine witnessed a high flow with the participation of thousands of vehicles of various sizes.

Crowds of mourners continue their walk towards the holy city of Najaf, to commemorate the martyrdom of the Noble Prophet (peace be upon him and his family), which reaches its climax at the Holy Shrine of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) on the eve of the twenty-eighth day of the month of Safar.
