Holy Karbala receives over three million pilgrims from Arab and European countries to commemorate Arbaeen Pilgrimage

 The Deputy Governor of Karbala, Jassem al-Fatlawi, said on Tuesday, 13th of September, that holy Karbala has so far received pilgrims from 80 Arab and foreign countries, participating in the revival of the Arbaeen Pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), expecting that the number of participants will exceed 20 million.

 Al-Fatlawi said in a press statement followed by Shia Waves News Agency: “The holy province of Karbala received during the past few days millions of pilgrims, and large numbers of them are still flowing towards the city,” noting that “at least one and a half million pilgrims enter daily”.

 He stressed that “government service departments and even Husseini Mawkibs will continue to provide services to the pilgrims until after the blessed Pilgrimage,” pointing out the preparation of a tight plan to protect the pilgrims as well as to deliver and provide services to them.

 Al-Fatlawi pointed out that “the number of foreign pilgrims has reached 3 million so far, from 8 countries, whether they are from Europe, Afghanistan or Arab countries such as Saudi Arabia and all other countries.”
