Iraq to allow Kuwaiti pilgrims to participate in the massive Arbaeen Pilgrimage

Today, Wednesday, the director of the Al-Shaaer Media Group, Nasir Al-Shahmani, confirmed the success of his efforts to obtain the approval of the Iraqi Ministry of Interior to allow the entry of Kuwaiti pilgrims to participate in the revival of the upcoming Arbaeen Pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

In a press statement to Shia Waves News Agency, Al-Shamhani said: “Great efforts were made to obtain the approval of the Iraqi Minister of Interior Othman Al-Ghanimi, in coordination with the Kuwaiti side, to open the borders for Kuwaiti pilgrims.”

He added that “he conveyed to the Minister of Interior the desire of the Kuwaiti pilgrims to revive the Arbaeen of Imam Hussein in the holy city of Karbala,” noting that “Al-Ghanimi agreed to open the Abdali and Safwan border crossings with Kuwait to allow the citizens of the country to enter Iraq during the days of the blessed pilgrimage.”

He pointed out that “the Minister of Interior agreed to admit Kuwaiti pilgrims and obtain visas at the border with Iraq.”

Al-Shahmani’s recent efforts come in line with the commandments of the Supreme Religious Authority, His Eminence, the Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, to facilitate the travel of citizens of countries around the world who wish to commemorate the blessed Arbaeen Pilgrimage to the holy city of Karbala.
