Holy Karbala Health Directorate puts emergency plan for upcoming Arbaeen Pilgrimage

Today, Sunday, the health directorate of holy Karbala has announced its emergency plan for the upcoming Arbaeen Pilgrimage of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.

The Director-General of the Karbala Health Department, Sabah Al-Moussawi, said in a statement received by Shia Waves News Agency, “The successes achieved in the previous massive pilgrimages should be an important motive and a main pillar upon which the department’s affiliates rely when providing services to the citizens and pilgrims of the holy city.”

He added, “Hospital managers must prepare all supplies, including medicines and medical supplies, especially the necessary ones, before starting to implement the emergency plan in line with the powers granted to them, and emphasizing civil defense procedures, precautions, and safety and security measures to respond to any emergency situation that may occur.”

Al-Moussawi added, “It has been decided to form a special operations room for the visit headed by the Director of the Public Health Department, to carry out the tasks entrusted to it and coordinate with the government and civil agencies supporting it, which contributes to the success of the visit, and it was also decided to form rescue teams in hospitals and other teams for rapid response in the health sectors and make them ready and prepared to provide services for the citizens and pilgrims, and other necessary measures and preparations, up to the stage of implementing the health emergency plan.”
