The search for the victims in the Droplet Site of Imam Ali completes

The Droplet Site (Qattara) of Imam Ali (peace be upon him), located 20 km southwest of the holy city of Karbala, was damaged on 20 August after rubble from a landslide struck its roof. Eight Iraqi pilgrims died under the rubble.

The official Iraqi News Agency reported that the country’s Civil Defense Department issued a brief statement and announced that the rescue teamshad recovered the body of the last victim of the accident, southwest of the holy city of Karbala.

In its statement, the Iraqi fire brigade confirmed that the victims of the Droplet Site of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) were five women, two men and a child.

It is noteworthy that the rescue operation took more than 60 hours and 30 specialized and experienced rescue teams from the Civil Defense in the holy provinces of Karbala, Najaf, Baghdad, Babylon, Diwaniyah and Muthanna under the direct command of Major General Kadhem Salman. Bohan, the Director General of the Iraqi Civil Defense, also participated in the operation.

The Droplet Site of Imam Ali, peace be upon him, is one of the last stops of the convoy of Imam Zain al-Abidin, Sayyida Zainab and other members of the household of Imam Hussein, peace be upon them, on their way from Syria to Karbala during Arbaeen.
