Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Bashir al-Najafi: Iraq is a sacred homeland in which is the Awaited Imam’s Capital

The religious authority, His Eminence, Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Bashir al-Najafi, said that Iraq is a sacred homeland in which is the capital of the Awaited Imam, may Allah hasten his honorable reappearance.

His Eminence added, in a speech during his meeting with a delegation from the Basra province, “Iraq is your homeland, and you should be proud of this affiliation, for Iraq is a sacred homeland,” noting that “Iraq embraces the graves of the Imams of the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, the righteous, and the holy shrines, and it is the capital of the Awaited Imam, may our souls be sacrificed for Him.”

His Eminence emphasized that, “the sign of the visit to the graves of the Imams of the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, to be accepted is to change one’s individual behavior the daily life, starting from the family to the community; to set an example to change and reform society.”

His Eminence addressed the delegation by saying: “Your duty is to honor your parents and be kind to them, especially honoring your mothers who raised you and raised you to love the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, and this is indeed a great deed.”
