The jury announces the results of the Orphan’s Poet Competition launched by Misbah al-Hussein Foundation

The Misbah Al-Hussein Foundation for Relief and Development has concluded recording the episodes of its competition ‘The Orphan’s Poet’, which it launched in support of its project – the Charter for the Protection of Iraq’s Orphans – in cooperation with Imam Hussein TV.

The Foundation launched the competition within its project – the Charter for the Protection of Iraq’s Orphans – and under the auspices of the office of His Eminence, the Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi.

Dozens of poets from various Iraqi provinces and cities participated, after the Foundation contacted the unions and associations of Iraq’s poets.

Six television episodes were recorded, which will be aired soon on Imam Hussein TV.

The competition focuses on two poetic themes: folk and popular, represented by the jury members Dr. Jalil Al-Yasiri and Dr. Ali Hussein Youssef; and Ali Salman Ghali and Alaa Al-Yassin, respectively.

The names of the winners of the competition were announced. They are as follows:

Eloquent Poetry

First place – Poet Sajjad Al-Salmi from Basra

Second place – Poet Khalil Hajj Faisal from Dhi Qar

Third place – Poet Wissam Sabriel from Karbala

Folk Poetry

First place – Poet Mustafa Madi from Dhi Qar

Second place – Poet Adel Al-Abadi from Karbala

Third place – Poet Ali Samir from Karbala
