The administration of the Al-Shaib border crossing has announced that more than 21,000 foreign visitors entered Iraq through the crossing in a single day as part of the growing influx of pilgrims participating in the Arba’een pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

Al-Shaib crossing director Mahmoud Taha Mahmoud said that 21,293 foreign visitors arrived through the crossing on Tuesday, while 7,884 visitors departed, reflecting the continuous movement of pilgrims during the Arba’een season.

He noted that Iranian visitors represented the largest share of arrivals, alongside pilgrims from other countries. The crossing also recorded the entry of 82 Pakistani visitors, 67 Afghan visitors, and 22 pilgrims from other nationalities.

The crossing administration confirmed that organizational and service measures remain in place to facilitate the movement of visitors, manage the increasing number of arrivals, and ensure smooth procedures for pilgrims heading to Iraq to participate in the annual Arba’een commemoration in Karbala.
