Over 800 Iraqis Set to Return from Al-Hol Camp to Iraq
……………..

More than 800 Iraqis are preparing to leave the Al-Hol refugee camp in Syria, with plans to head back to Iraq on Thursday under U.S. military protection. The return involves approximately 850 individuals, distributed across 240 families. This follows previous repatriation efforts, including the departure of 935 individuals in June and 865 in April.

Since 2021, the Iraqi government, with the support of international organizations, has been working on a plan to return Iraqi families from the camp, where they are received at the Al-Jadaa camp for social and psychological rehabilitation. However, the repatriation has faced local opposition, especially from families of victims of ISIS in Mosul, who are concerned about the reintegration of these families into their communities.
