Arbaeen Pilgrims from Mumbai Travel to Iraq
———————————
According to a report from The Times of India, thousands of Shia pilgrims from Mumbai have traveled to Iraq to participate in the Arbaeen ceremonies. The pilgrims are walking the approximately 90-kilometer route from Najaf to Karbala. Due to the extreme heat, with temperatures reaching 52 degrees Celsius, most of the walking is done at night.
In addition to visiting the holy sites, pilgrims are also receiving free services such as food, water, and rest areas from the mawkibs (service tents). Religious programs and speeches by scholars are also being broadcast live. This report highlights the global tradition of the Arbaeen walk, demonstrating the devotion and sincerity of the pilgrims.
