NA Member Urges Pakistani Government to Lower Arbaeen Fees for Pilgrims

Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Shagufta Jumani has called on the Pakistani government to take practical steps to reduce the fare for Arbaeen pilgrims traveling to Iraq, Shiite News reported.

Her statement, made during a National Assembly session, specifically requested a concession on ticket prices to bring the cost down to $220. The appeal comes as many pilgrims face high travel costs for the annual pilgrimage.

It should be mentioned that in an unprecedented move, the Pakistani Government banned all land travel through its borders for the Arbaeen pilgrims on grounds of alleged “security concerns.”
