The Holy Quran Scientific Assembly, affiliated to Al-Abbas Holy Shrine, has inaugurated the latest stage of its annual “Amir al-Qurra” (King of Quran Reciters) program. The opening ceremony featured Quranic recitations, including the Kumail and Ashura supplications, as well as mourning rituals commemorating Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, and his companions.

The initiative aims to deepen religious awareness and Quranic engagement among youth through structured recitation, memorization, and vocal training workshops. A rigorous daily schedule guides participants through progressive learning levels, supplemented by Quranic circles, cultural competitions, and recreational activities.

As part of its mission, the program seeks to nurture Iraqi Quranic talent, emphasizing proper recitation techniques. The assembly’s holistic approach combines spiritual, educational, and skill-building components to foster a new generation of skilled Quran reciters.
