On Friday, the Najaf Holy Quran Institute for Women, affiliated with the al-Abbas Holy Shrine, organized the fifth edition of the National Quran Memorization Competition for Women, according to the Al-Kafeel website.

Minar al-Jabouri, head of the institute, said female Quran memorizers and Quranic figures from different provinces of the Arab country are taking part in the Quranic event.

She said the contenders were briefed on the competition’s regulations and assessment criteria at the opening ceremony.

According to Jabouri, the participants have made it to the competition after passing the preliminary stage.

They compete in the memorization of the entire Holy Quran, she noted.

The Al-Abbas Holy Shrine and its affiliate centers and institutes have in recent years organized various Quranic programs, including Quranic courses and competitions.
