Moscow Seminar Focuses on Improving Quality of Islamic Higher Education

A specialized academic seminar on enhancing the quality of Islamic higher education was held at the Moscow Islamic Institute on March 25–26, bringing together academics and experts from across Russia.
The event, organized by the Council for Islamic Education with support from the Foundation for the Support of Islamic Culture, Science, and Education, focused on improving academic standards and outcomes in Islamic universities.
Participants discussed modern approaches to evaluating educational performance, including the development of unified databases and more precise tools to measure student achievement. Experts said such measures could help institutions better align with contemporary academic and societal needs.
The seminar also examined methods for assessing institutional effectiveness, emphasizing the importance of clear performance indicators, consistent monitoring, and standardized evaluation criteria.
Attendees highlighted the need to strengthen information systems and enhance coordination among institutions to support the continued development of Islamic education amid evolving challenges.
The sessions were held in person, with remote participation available via video conferencing, allowing broader engagement from specialists in the field.
