Turkey Arrests Senior ISIS-K Operative in Cross-Border Raid

Turkish intelligence has captured a high-ranking member of the Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISIS-K) in a covert operation near the Afghanistan-Pakistan border. According to state media and the Anadolu Agency, the suspect, a Turkish national identified as Yahya (alias Mohammed Goren), was a key figure in organizing global suicide attacks.

According to Turkish officials, the suspect rose through the group’s ranks after receiving ideological and military training, eventually coordinating operations across Turkey, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Europe. His arrest reportedly thwarted several imminent suicide bombings and provided critical intelligence on the group’s recruitment and logistics networks.

According to the reports, the operative has been transported to Turkey for interrogation. While officials did not confirm the involvement of foreign governments, they stated that the mission significantly strengthens Turkey’s counterterrorism capabilities against the group, which has targeted Turkish soil repeatedly since 2017.
