55 Iranian Migrants Deported from U.S. Under Stricter Immigration Rules
…………..
Iranian authorities confirmed that 55 Iranian nationals were deported from the United States under tightened immigration policies introduced during the Trump administration, Khaama Press reported. The group was returned to Iran after completing administrative and legal procedures facilitated by Iran’s Interests Section in Washington, with officials assuring measures for their “proper and humane treatment” during transit.
Reports did not specify the identities of the deportees or the legal grounds for their removal, though U.S. media and rights advocates noted that many had overstayed visas or entered without proper documentation. Some individuals reportedly feared persecution on return due to sexual orientation or political activities. Earlier deportations in October involved over 120 Iranians, with authorities indicating that up to 400 nationals could face removal.
Human rights groups have expressed concern that deported Iranians may face imprisonment, persecution, or penalties under Iran’s conservative legal system, highlighting broader worries about the safety of asylum seekers under evolving U.S. immigration enforcement.
