A bloody terrorist attack by the extremist Sunni group Sipah-e-Sahaba on a group of Shia Muslims in the Pehlwan Goth area of Karachi has left two people dead and three others wounded, Shia Waves Persian reported.

According to the source, citing Al Jazeera, the deceased were identified as Ali Waris and Mazhar Abbas. The wounded victims were named as Ali Hassan, Muhammad Ali, and Habib Ali.

The Sipah-e-Sahaba, an extremist anti-Shia group founded in the 1980s, has been accused of carrying out numerous sectarian attacks in the past. The attack took place amid repeated warnings from Pakistan’s Shia community about the government’s inaction regarding rising sectarian violence. Security officials have launched an investigation into the incident.
