Iran Issues Arbaeen E-Visa Advisory for Pakistani Pilgrims
——————————
The Iranian embassy has issued a crucial advisory for Pakistani pilgrims planning to undertake the Arbaeen pilgrimage to Iran and Iraq, emphasizing a mandatory e-visa registration process and specific travel regulations, Dawn E-Paper reported.

This measure, following a tripartite meeting involving the interior ministers of Iran, Pakistan, and Iraq, aims to manage crowd flow at border entry points for the blessed Husseini Arbaeen.

Pakistani pilgrims must register for their Arbaeen pilgrimage e-visa through Iran’s electronic visa portal by August 7. Crucially, pilgrims must possess a valid Iraqi Arbaeen e-visa before they are permitted to enter Iraq.

Between July 26 and August 10, pilgrims holding a valid Iraqi Arbaeen visa will qualify for a free double-entry Iranian Arbaeen visa and half-rate travel insurance, facilitating their land journey through Iran to Iraq. After August 10, the e-visa option will no longer be available.

Border crossings at Mirjaveh-Taftan and Rimdan-Gabd will be operational for group bus travel, subject to agreement from Pakistan and tour operators. Tour operators are required to submit comprehensive details, including transport vehicle information, ‘Carnet de Passage’ documents, international driving licenses, and a complete list of pilgrims. Entry will only be granted upon verification of passenger lists and vehicle registration plates.

Pilgrims utilizing the Iranian Arbaeen pilgrimage visa must enter Iran by August 14 and are strictly required to proceed to Iraq only via the Chazzabeh (Al-Shayeb) border crossing, returning through the same route. The use of any other border crossing is prohibited. For those opting for air travel, flight tickets clearly indicating Iraq as the final destination are mandatory.
