Ayatollah Shirazi recommends creating atmosphere to support Muslim youth on different levels

The Supreme Religious Authority, His Eminence, Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, stresses the presence of youth in political, social and scientific forums, and stresses the need to give Muslim youth the necessary opportunity to provide what serves their society and their countries.

Numerous letters and statements by His Eminence were published by his office in the holy city of Qom and reviewed by Shia Waves News Agency, in which he affirmed that “abandoning the youth leads to many disasters,” explaining that “it is necessary to pay more attention to young people, both boys and girls, by giving their needs and directing their energies to work on the goodness of themselves, the goodness of their country, and the goodness of their society, and that is not an easy thing, but rather requires dozens of constructive approaches, holding consultative conferences, and so on.”

On the political level, the Grand Ayatollah Shirazi believes that “it is very necessary to establish social organizations and institutions, in which the election system gives priority for the individual most worthy of managing matters or the administration’s consultation,” attributing the reason for establishing such organizations to “the lack of freedoms and free elections in general, so it is necessary to find an alternative for the youth development.”

As for the necessary elements for the care and political support of young people, it is the formation of Islamic parties affiliated with the jurists and religious authorities, so that every religious authority has a party of its young followers, and the authorities have a group of religious intellectuals, trustworthy and honest, to take the lead of those young people who join the organization.”

His Eminence says: “If a young man sees good food, he will not be drawn to the bad food that the networks of the West and East prepare for him from corruption, like every hungry person who eats bad food if he does not find good food and drink, and this first matter is the mainstay of the matters that we mention.”

Another aspect that His Eminence emphasizes is “the creation of appropriate libraries and books for young people according to their different ages, cultural and social levels, as well as for other types of culture, including platforms, radio, television, newspapers, magazines, tapes, videos, and others.”

His Eminence points out that “everyone, especially young people, regardless of their work and social status, should devote two or three hours of their free time to studying the history of Islam, and to pass on what they conclude in this field to others through modern means of communication in the world today.”
