A two-year-old Iranian boy is in a coma after being violently assaulted at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport. Surveillance footage shows a man suddenly picking up the child and slamming him to the floor in the arrivals hall. The boy, who had just arrived from Iran with his mother, suffered severe skull fractures and spinal injuries.

The attacker, identified as 31-year-old Vladimir Vitkov from Belarus, was seen loitering near the child before committing the unprovoked act. The boy’s pregnant mother was retrieving a stroller when the incident occurred. A bystander rushed to aid the injured child.

Russian police have detained Vitkov and are investigating potential motives, including possible racial bias or drug influence. Authorities are continuing inquiries as international concern grows over the safety of vulnerable travelers in transit hubs. The child remains in critical condition.
