Missile strikes by Pakistan hit Kunar province, killing three and injuring dozens, amid rise in cross-border tensions with Afghanistan, Khaama Press reported.

The strikes reportedly targeted areas in and around Asadabad, including the Faculty of Education at Sayed Jamaluddin Afghan University, which sustained damage during the attack.

Local sources said several residential neighborhoods and villages were also struck, raising concerns about civilian safety, while no confirmed reports indicated that nearby military positions were directly hit.

The latest violence follows recent clashes in Kandahar, where fighting along the border with Pakistani forces was reported, highlighting a broader pattern of instability across multiple frontier regions.

Border tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan have intensified over the past two months, with repeated exchanges of fire and strikes reported along eastern and southern areas.

The United Nations has warned that the recent wave of border violence has taken a heavy toll on civilians, with more than 70 people reportedly killed in the first two weeks of clashes in eastern Afghanistan.
